For this weeks blog we gained access to our AWS account, which allowed us to begin creating the server that is going to eventually host our website, along with communicate with our chosen API and store customer information, for ease of use
Why Aws? - We chose Aws because of its many features that we are going to use to our advantage to create our best work. AWS also allows our website to scale with demand as well as allows for flexibility within our production.
Aws Features - The Aws features that we are going to take advantage of are, pay for what you use meaning we will only have to pay / use our credits to pay for active time when our server is live, meaning while updating and adding new work to our site it wont cost a penny until we decide to run the server to view our changes.
Additionally, Aws servers tend to be on the cheaper side compared to other competitors that host sites.
Another feature that is very helpful is AWS's response time, when making updates and checking to ensure our progress is being saved and maintained. Aws does a great job at response time and ensuring there isn't a delay in our production.
Wix to Aws integration - Although we do plan on doing a majority of the backend coding, including the html coding that will be visible in our project. Aws allows the integration from Wix to Aws which will allow us to modify our website without the hassle of having to continuously intertwine between a test server / our backend to ensure all of our information is displaying how we would like it too.
Aws API support - Additionally, we were able to find that Aws makes connecting API's fairly user friendly. By signing into the AWS API Gateway console, we will be able to choose our designated API and allow it to connect with our Aws backend.
Current state - Currently, we just acquired our URL( chewsadish.com ) and are looking to port forward our Wix website to AWS, then to our URL allowing our site to be accessed using the URL chewsadish.com
